A circle is inscribed in a semicircle and separated by a chord perpendicular to the diameter of the semicircle. Find the angle as shown in the figure.
Solution:
Blue lines are of the same length so the triangle is isosceles and angles opposite to the blue lines are the same (Proof is given in one of my posts, click here to redirect to that post).
\[90-\beta+\alpha=90-\alpha\]
\[\Rightarrow \beta = 2\alpha\]
\[\Rightarrow \alpha:\beta=1:2\]
